Web portal guide

Learn how to use the Plugchoice web portal for your charger network.

Updated over a week ago

Plugchoice's web portal is designed for managing multiple chargers at multiple locations. It also provides access to more advanced settings.

Note that what users/installers see in the app, you can see in the web portal. The two are completely synchronized. If you change settings of a charger or location here, it will also change in the app.

Tip: Quickly find chargers, locations and settings by pressing Search in the top right or Ctrl+K.

Team settings

Teams are a central element because access to locations (and their chargers) is done on a per-team basis. It is different from your personal account. Multiple accounts can be teammates.

Press on your team in the top left, then press Settings.

Change your team name and URL handle in General.

In Billing, you can change your team's invoicing details. This is used for Plugchoice transactions only, such as purchasing licenses via the app or web portal.

In Teammates you can manage and invite new teammates. If you want your colleagues to automatically join your team, you can look into Automatic Enrollment.

Head over to Branding if you want to customise the look of the web portal or even use your own domain name.

Locations

Everything revolves around locations. Cards, Smart Charging and access settings are handled on a per-location basis.

To view a location, go to Locations and press on a location.

Under Insights, charging behaviour is summarized. It's like the Dashboard, but on a location level.

You can also view all Chargers and add/unlink them. Click on a charger to jump directly to its settings.

In Transactions, you and your customers can view and download all transactions of this location.

It's also possible to view/transactions on a per-charger basis by pressing that charger specifically and then also going to Transactions in its menu.

A big feature of the web portal is the Power Management tab where you can view a diagram of the current settings and change them. This is useful for larger or complex installations.

Similarly, Tariff Management settings can be viewed and changed here.

In Members, you can review and manage which teams have access to this location.

The Cards tab displays which cards are allowed for all chargers in this location. You can add or remove cards here.

Chargers

By heading over to the Chargers tab, you will get a filterable table of all your chargers.

You can add new chargers here, or import them in bulk by pressing Import.

Pressing on a charger will reveal its information:

The Diagnostics tab contains information such as the pincode, the charger's (connection) status, its firmware. It also shows basic information from the location of the charger.

The Cellular tab shows the SIM status of the charger and only works for Volt Time / Plugchoice SIM cards.

Transactions

To download the transactions of this charger, press Transactions and press Export.

To view the graph of a transaction, press Details next to it:

The current is displayed for each phase, this means how fast the car allowed the charger to charge. The dotted line displays how much current the charger offered to the car.

Settings

By pressing Settings, various features like Lock Charger and Autostart can be viewed and toggled.

Configuration

The Configuration tab shows the current configuration for the charger and allows you to make changes.

Operators

The Operators tab shows which other platforms the charger is connected to via OCPP. This is most often used for billing or energy management purposes.

Parameters

The Parameters tab allows you to view and change the OCPP parameters of the charger. Change what you need to change and press Save, this will prompt a ChangeConfiguration command to the charger containing the changes.

Changing the wrong parameters can result in the charger going offline.

Plugchoice automatically changes parameters based on settings elsewhere, you probably do not need to be here. This tab is only for highly advanced users.

Commands

Here you can send OCPP commands to the charger. Note that useful commands such as HardReset are quickly found in the top right:

Logs

The Logs tab shows live logs from the charger. Logs with Central System as destination originated from the charger.
