How to connect: Infypower

Requirements

  • Access to the charger's on-screen Param Set menu

  • Working network: LAN cable into one of the 2 LAN ports, or LTE modem plus antenna plus valid SIM supported by the modem

  • APN, user and password from the SIM supplier for LTE (some SIMs auto-recognize)

  • Charger ID and OCPP Server End URL (issued by Plugchoice)

  • Back end reachable over OCPP-J 1.6

Connect your charger

Network:

  1. On the charger screen, enter /Param Set/Charger System/. This menu holds Charger ID, Network Setting and OCPP Server End URL (manual section 6.2.3).

  2. Wired: in Network Setting configure wired network #1 or wired network #2. Set Auto Set by DHCP to ON when the controller is connected to a LAN where a DHCP server is available (preferred).

  3. Wireless (LTE) instead: check the LTE modem is properly installed, the antenna is well mounted, and a valid SIM card (supported by the modem) is inserted. Enter the APN/User/Password from your SIM supplier; some SIM cards are recognized automatically so these can be skipped. LTE mode differs per country, so contact the charger's service point for details.

  4. Confirm the network icon shows on screen (LAN icon when a LAN port is connected, wireless icon when the wireless network is up). The icon only indicates the network is available for use.

OCPP:

  1. In /Param Set/Charger System/, set Charger ID to the identity issued by Plugchoice.

  2. Set OCPP Server End URL to wss://proxy.plugchoice.com/v1. The protocol the upper controller supports is OCPP-J 1.6.

Verify:

  1. When everything is configured correctly the connected icon appears on screen without a reboot. Run a test session before real application; the manual warns that OCPP platforms can carry customer-private definitions, so any access to an OCPP platform needs a test before true application.

Once the OCPP parameters are set correctly the connected icon appears on the charger screen, without a reboot, and the charger talks OCPP-J 1.6 to Plugchoice.

Registering your charger in Plugchoice

  1. Add the charger using the chargepoint ID. The manual names two standard parameters for back-end setting, Charger ID and OCPP Server End Url, and says to get them from the back-end supplier. With Plugchoice as the back end, enter the identity issued by Plugchoice as the Charger ID.

Done! The charger should come online.

Troubleshooting

Did you set everything up correctly, but the charger still remains "Pre-registered"?

  • The network icons only indicate the network is available for use, not that the OCPP connection is up.

  • Local LTE network quality and signal quality deeply impact the wireless application.

  • LTE mode differs per country; contact the charger's service point before using LTE.

  • The connected icon should appear without a reboot once OCPP parameters are correct; if it does not, re-check Charger ID and OCPP Server End URL.

  • Always test against the OCPP platform before true application (the manual warns some customer-private definitions exist inside OCPP).
