Requirements
A KEBA charger with OCPP support (e.g. KeContact P30 c-/x-series) and an internet connection (Wi-Fi, LAN or SIM)
The configuration label (in the pouch with the installation materials): hotspot password and WEBUI login credentials
The charger's serial number (on the type plate and the configuration label)
A laptop or phone to access the KEBA WEBUI
Good to know: on the KeContact P30, DIP switch 2.5 must be ON to enable the WEBUI (see the KEBA installation manual).
Connect your charger
Open the WEBUI
Connect your laptop or phone to the charger's Wi-Fi hotspot. The network name is the charger's serial number; the password is on the configuration label.
Open a browser, go to 192.168.2.1 and log in with the WEBUI credentials from the configuration label.
You can also reach the WEBUI over your local network (LAN or Wi-Fi) via the charger's IP address, shown on the display at startup.
Connect the charger to the internet
Go to Configuration > Network connection.
Set the WLAN toggle to ON, refresh Available Networks, select your Wi-Fi and enter its password. Using LAN or a SIM card instead? Configure that here too.
Enter the OCPP settings
Go to Configuration > OCPP and enter:
Chargepoint Identity: the charger's serial number
OCPP Communication Type: OCPP 1.6 JSON
Central System Hostname: proxy.plugchoice.com
Central System Port: 80
Central System Path: /v1
Secure Central System Connection: OFF
Central System Authentication Method: None
Leave all other values at their defaults.
Click Apply. The charger saves the settings and reboots — this can take several minutes.
After the reboot, check Status > Backend: the state should show Connected.
Registering your charger in Plugchoice
Add the charger using the chargepoint ID. For KEBA, this is the Chargepoint Identity you set in the WEBUI, so the serial number (case sensitive).
Done! The charger should come online.
Troubleshooting
Did you set everything up correctly, but the charger still remains "Pre-registered"?
The chargepoint ID in Plugchoice must exactly match the Chargepoint Identity in the WEBUI.
Check Status > Backend in the WEBUI shows Connected. If not, re-check the hostname, port and path for typos and trailing spaces.
Make sure Secure Central System Connection is OFF and the port is 80.
Firmware older than 1.16.1? Older versions have a known backend connection issue — update via the KEBA website.
Reboot the charger after changing settings; a full reboot can take up to 8 minutes.
