Requirements
Internet connection for the charger (LAN, Wi-Fi or SIM, depending on the model)
A laptop or phone
The charger's serial number (on the charger and in its documentation)
Good to know: EATON chargers are configured through a built-in web interface. Use Chrome, Firefox or Opera. Safari is not supported.
Connect your charger
Option 1: Green Motion AC
Via Ethernet:
Connect an RJ45 cable to port ETH0 (left port).
Power cycle the charger via its circuit breaker. Wait for a green LED.
Browse to http://192.168.51.1.
Via Wi-Fi hotspot:
Power cycle the charger via its circuit breaker. Wait for a green LED.
Join the Wi-Fi network GM_XXXXXX (last 6 digits of the serial number).
The Wi-Fi password is on the first page of the quick start guide.
Browse to http://192.168.53.1.
Then:
Log in (default username and password: admin).
Switch the view from Quick to Advanced (top right).
Open the OCPP Server menu and enter:
Enabled: on
Protocol: OCPP 1.6
BoxId / ChargingStationId: the charger's serial number
Backend: Custom
Server URL: ws://proxy.plugchoice.com/v1
Security Profile: 0. Leave user and password empty.
Press Save and apply at the bottom.
Check the connection in the Status field.
Option 2: Green Motion DC
Turn the charger off via its circuit breaker.
Connect a laptop to a LAN port of the internal Teltonika router.
Turn the charger on. Wait for a green LED.
Browse to http://192.168.52.11 and accept the browser warning.
Open the OCPP configuration section.
Enter Server URL: ws://proxy.plugchoice.com/v1.
Enter the serial number as the chargepoint ID.
Press Save, then Restart app.
The configuration session expires after 30 minutes. Restart the charger to resume.
Option 3: Green Motion Duo
Power cycle the charger. The Master unit broadcasts a Wi-Fi hotspot for 30 minutes.
Scan the QR code or join the hotspot manually.
Press Next and accept the browser warning.
Change the default password.
Set the internet connection method in the wizard.
Go to Settings > OCPP server > Edit OCPP Server and enable OCPP.
Enter:
CSMS (Backend): Custom
Protocol: OCPP 1.6j
Charge Point ID: the charger's serial number
Server Address: ws://proxy.plugchoice.com/v1
Security profile: 0
Press Save and Reconnect.
Registering your charger in Plugchoice
Add the charger using the chargepoint ID. For EATON, this is the serial number (case sensitive).
Done! The charger should come online.
Troubleshooting
Did you set everything up correctly, but the charger still remains "Pre-registered"?
The chargepoint ID in Plugchoice must exactly match the ID in the charger.
Check the connection in the Status field of the OCPP menu.
Safari is not supported for the web interface.
Configuration session expired? Power cycle the charger and reconnect.
