Requirements
A laptop or phone with Wi-Fi
The login password sticker (Live) or the master password from the manual (Next/Unite)
The charger's serial number
Good to know: Webasto chargers are configured through a built-in web interface. The connection works over GSM, Wi-Fi or LAN.
Connect your charger
Option 1: Webasto Live
Stay close to the charger with your laptop.
Join the Wi-Fi hotspot Webasto!Live #SERIALNUMBER using the WPA2 key.
Browse to http://172.20.0.1.
Open the dashboard and enter the login password from the sticker.
Go to Backend and enter:
Connection Type: GSM, Wi-Fi or LAN, depending on your setup
ChargeBoxID: the charger's serial number
OCPP Mode: OCPP-J 1.6 Websockets JSON
OCPP URL: ws://proxy.plugchoice.com/v1
Press Save and restart the charger.
Option 2: Webasto Next / Unite
Connect the charger to your network (LAN or Wi-Fi). Disable the unused connection.
Open the charger's web interface: join its NEXT- hotspot, or browse to its IP on your network.
Log in with the master password from the manual.
Go to Backend.
Enter the backend endpoint: ws://proxy.plugchoice.com/v1.
Enter the serial number as the ChargePoint ID.
Press Save and restart the charger.
Registering your charger in Plugchoice
Add the charger using the chargepoint ID. For Webasto, this is the ChargeBoxID you entered, usually the serial number (case sensitive).
Done! The charger should come online.
Troubleshooting
Did you set everything up correctly, but the charger still remains "Pre-registered"?
The chargepoint ID in Plugchoice must exactly match the ChargeBoxID.
Check OCPP Mode is OCPP-J 1.6 Websockets JSON.
Next/Unite: disable unused network connections; they cause conflicts.
Update the charger to the latest firmware.
