How to connect: SMA

Connect an SMA charger to Plugchoice via its web interface.

Requirements

  • Laptop on the same network as the charger

  • The web interface login (username: operator, password: service.kraft)

  • The charger's serial number

Good to know: the SMA web interface is in German.

Connect your charger

  1. In your browser, open the charger's IP address.

  2. Log in with username operator, password service.kraft.

  3. Go to System > Überblick and set HTTPS to An.

  4. Go to Netzwerk > LAN and show the network settings.

  5. Go to Menu > Backend > Verbindung.

  6. Set Verbindungstyp to Ethernet.

  7. Set OCPP ChargeBoxIdentity to the charger's serial number.

  8. Set OCPP Modus to OCPP-J 1.6.

  9. Set the WebSockets JSON OCPP URL to ws://proxy.plugchoice.com/v1.

  10. Go to Autorisierung > RFID-Whitelists.

  11. Set the local whitelist and OCPP whitelist to An.

  12. Save the settings.

Registering your charger in Plugchoice

  1. Add the charger using the chargepoint ID. For SMA, this is the ChargeBoxIdentity you entered (case sensitive).

Done! The charger should come online.

Troubleshooting

Did you set everything up correctly, but the charger still remains "Pre-registered"?

  • The chargepoint ID must exactly match the ChargeBoxIdentity.

  • Check the URL ends in /v1 with no typos.

  • Cards not working? Check both RFID whitelists are on.
