How to connect: Gewiss

Connect your Gewiss charger to Plugchoice through its built-in WebUI.

Requirements

  • A laptop and an ethernet cable (or the charger's wifi in access point mode)

  • Firmware: CSU V4.07.M0 or higher, CCS V1.36.S0 or higher

  • WebUI login: admin / 1231231238

Good to know: Gewiss chargers are configured through their built-in WebUI, on site.

Connect your charger

Option 1: Access the WebUI via ethernet

  1. Open the charger's panel and connect your laptop to the ethernet port.

  2. On your laptop, go to Network & Internet > Ethernet > IP assignment > Edit.

  3. Set IP address 192.168.1.1 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0.

  4. Browse to 192.168.1.10 (ignore the browser warning).

  5. Log in as admin with password 1231231238.

Option 2: Access the WebUI via wifi

  1. Stand near the charger and open your laptop's wifi list.

  2. Join the charger's network. The network name is the model name plus serial number.

  3. The password is the serial number plus model name.

  4. Browse to 192.168.10.10 (ignore the browser warning).

  5. Log in as admin with password 1231231238.

No charger network visible? The wifi is not in access point mode. Set SET > Network > Wifi > Mode to Access Point via ethernet first.

Set the OCPP details

  1. Check the firmware under SET > System > Version Information. Too old? Update under UPGRADE.

  2. Go to SET > Backend > OCPP Backend.

  3. In Central System URL, enter ws://proxy.plugchoice.com/v1.

  4. Set Support V2.0.1 to Disable.

  5. In Charge Box Id, enter the serial number (or a name of your choice).

  6. In Charge Point Vendor, enter JOINON.

  7. Set OCPP Security Profile to None security. Leave other fields default.

  8. Press Ok, then reboot via OTHER > Reboot.

The charger now connects to Plugchoice. This can take a few minutes.

Registering your charger in Plugchoice

  1. Add the charger using the chargepoint ID. For Gewiss, this is the Charge Box Id you entered (case sensitive).

Done! The charger should come online.

Troubleshooting

Did you set everything up correctly, but the charger still remains "Pre-registered"?

  • The chargepoint ID in Plugchoice must exactly match the Charge Box Id.

  • In the WebUI's OCPP Backend tab, check the OCPP Connection Status says Connected.

  • Old firmware prevents a stable connection. Update CSU and CCS first.

  • Check the charger has an internet connection (ethernet, wifi station mode or SIM).
