How to connect: Autel AC

Connect your Autel AC (MaxiCharger) to Plugchoice via the Autel Config app.

Requirements

  • An Autel MaxiCharger AC with internet (Wi-Fi, Ethernet or SIM)

  • The Autel Config app (iOS / Android) with an Autel account

  • The charger's serial number and PIN (QR code on the charger and in the Quick Reference Guide)

Good to know: Plugchoice is not in Autel's preset server list, so you enter the OCPP URL manually. No Autel account? Request one from Autel support.

Connect your charger

In the Autel Config app:

  1. Log in with your Autel credentials.

  2. Tap + (top right) to add your charger.

  3. Scan the QR code on the charger, or enter the serial number and PIN manually.

  4. Tap Verify.

  5. Tap the charger's serial number to open its settings.

  6. Tap Bluetooth Connection and connect to the charger.

  7. Tap Wi-Fi Connection, select your network and enter the password.

  8. Tap OCPP Server.

  9. In the Server URL field, enter: ws://proxy.plugchoice.com/v1

  10. Tap Connect and confirm.

The charger reboots and then connects to Plugchoice.

Registering your charger in Plugchoice

  1. Add the charger using the chargepoint ID. For Autel, this is the charger's serial number (case sensitive), unless a different OCPP ID was set in the app.

Done! The charger should come online.

Troubleshooting

Did you set everything up correctly, but the charger still remains "Pre-registered"?

  • The chargepoint ID in Plugchoice must exactly match the serial number (or OCPP ID).

  • Check the URL for typos, spaces or a trailing slash.

  • Does the app say the connection failed? Check Plugchoice anyway, this message is often wrong.

  • Older app version with separate fields? Address: ws://proxy.plugchoice.com, port: 80, path: /v1

  • Update the Autel Config app, older versions behave differently.

  • Using a SIM? Check the APN settings under SIM Card in the app.

  • Reboot the charger after changing the OCPP server.
