How to connect: GARO

Connect your GARO Entity or LS4/GTB charger to Plugchoice via OCPP.

Requirements

  • Internet connection for the charger (Ethernet, Wi-Fi or SIM)

  • Entity: installer access in the GARO Connect app

  • LS4, GTB, GLB+ or Twin: a laptop and a micro-USB data cable

Connect your charger

Option 1: Entity (Pro, Pro MID, Compact)

In the GARO Connect app:

  1. Log into the GARO Connect app as installer.

  2. Select the charger's location.

  3. Select the master charger. Linked units follow automatically.

  4. Open Third-party CPO/OCPP settings.

  5. In GaroDeviceId, enter a charger name. Copy it.

  6. In GaroRemoteCsmsUrl, enter: ws://proxy.plugchoice.com/v1

  7. Save and restart the charger.

  8. Repeat for every master charger at the location.

Option 2: LS4, GTB, GLB+, Twin

Via the charge controller's web interface:

  1. Plug a micro-USB cable into the controller's config port.

  2. Two controllers? Use the master (left-hand) controller.

  3. On the laptop, browse to 192.168.123.123.

  4. Log in: username operator, password cherry_zone or yellow_zone.

  5. Open the Backend menu.

  6. Set Connection Type to your internet type (GSM or Ethernet).

  7. Set OCPP Mode to OCPP-J 1.6.

  8. In OCPP ChargeBoxIdentity, enter the charger's serial number.

  9. In WebSockets JSON OCPP URL, enter: ws://proxy.plugchoice.com/v1

  10. Save and restart the charger.

  11. Check Diagnostics > Connection State (Backend) shows Connected.

Registering your charger in Plugchoice

  1. Add the charger using the chargepoint ID. For Entity, this is the GaroDeviceId. For LS4/GTB, it is the ChargeBoxIdentity (case sensitive).

Done! The charger should come online.

Troubleshooting

Did you set everything up correctly, but the charger still remains "Pre-registered"?

  • The chargepoint ID must exactly match the GaroDeviceId or ChargeBoxIdentity.

  • Entity: only master chargers need configuring. Linked units follow automatically.

  • Entity: GaroRemoteCsmsUrl only shows a list? Pick the manual URL option.

  • LS4: interface unreachable? Try 192.168.123.123/operator, port :81 or :82.

  • LS4: older firmware shows these settings under Operator instead of Backend.
