Requirements
A laptop with a USB connection
The USB cable supplied with the charger
The CpConfig program and the charger's serial number
Good to know: Elexon chargers are configured with the CpConfig tool over USB. Request the tool from Elexon or your installer.
Connect your charger
Connect the laptop to the charger with the USB cable.
Open the CpConfig program.
Open Windows Device Manager and check Ports (COM & LPT).
Enter the COM port number under Serial port (top left).
Enter the serial number as the charging station name.
Under OCPP SETTINGS, enter the URL: ws://proxy.plugchoice.com/v1.
Set Host port to 80.
Press Write under Settings (top right).
Wait for the charger to restart.
Registering your charger in Plugchoice
Add the charger using the chargepoint ID. For Elexon, this is the charging station name you entered, usually the serial number (case sensitive).
Done! The charger should come online.
Troubleshooting
Did you set everything up correctly, but the charger still remains "Pre-registered"?
The chargepoint ID in Plugchoice must exactly match the name in CpConfig.
Check the COM port number in Device Manager.
Check the charger has a working Ethernet or SIM connection.
Wait a few minutes after the restart before checking again.
For a complete guide, see our troubleshooting article if your charger can't connect to Plugchoice.
