How to connect: Beny

Connect a Beny charger to Plugchoice via its wifi configuration interface.

Requirements

  • Internet connection for the charger (wifi, 4G or ethernet)

  • A laptop or phone with wifi

  • The charger's serial number


Connect your charger

Enable the wifi AP configuration mode:

  1. Power off the charger and wait 30 seconds.

  2. Press the emergency stop button.

  3. Power on the charger.

  4. After a beep, the LED flashes yellow. Configuration mode is active.

In the web interface:

  1. Connect to the wifi network EVSE-XXXXXXXX (password: 12345678).

  2. In your browser, open 192.168.1.1.

  3. Log in with username admin, password 12345678.

  4. Open network configuration and set up your internet connection.

  5. Open central system configuration.

  6. Set Central System Hostname to proxy.plugchoice.com.

  7. Set Central System Port to 80.

  8. Set Charge Point Identity to the charger's serial number.

  9. Set Charge Point Path to v1.

  10. Save the settings and reboot the charger.


Registering your charger in Plugchoice

  1. Add the charger using the chargepoint ID. For Beny, this is the serial number (case sensitive).

Done! The charger should come online.


Troubleshooting

Did you set everything up correctly, but the charger still remains "Pre-registered"?

  • The chargepoint ID must exactly match the Charge Point Identity.

  • Check hostname, port 80 and path v1 for typos.

  • Release the emergency stop button after configuring.

  • Reboot the charger after saving.
