How to connect: ABL

Connect an ABL eMH2, eMH3 or eM4 charger to Plugchoice via OCPP.

Requirements

  • Internet connection for the charger (LAN, wifi or 4G)

  • eMH2/eMH3: laptop with an ethernet cable

  • eM4: the ABL Configuration App and installer access

Connect your charger

eMH2 and eMH3

  1. Open the charger.

  2. Connect the laptop to the ethernet port next to the 4G dongle.

  3. In your browser, open http://169.254.1.1:8300/.

  4. Go to the OCPP setting.

  5. Set OCPP version to 1.6.

  6. In Central system address (URL), enter ws://proxy.plugchoice.com/v1.

  7. Leave local port, local path and password blank.

  8. Click Save.

  9. Go to Maintenance > Hard reset.

eM4

  1. Open the ABL Configuration App on your phone.

  2. Tap Start a new configuration.

  3. Scan the QR code on the charger's commissioning label.

  4. Create a charger password. The charger reboots.

  5. Choose your network method (LAN/LTE) and finish the technical settings.

  6. Tap Manual input.

  7. Set OCPP Version to 1.6.

  8. Set Central System Address to ws://proxy.plugchoice.com.

  9. Set Local Path to /v1. Leave Local Port empty.

  10. Tap Next to confirm.

Registering your charger in Plugchoice

  1. Add the charger using the chargepoint ID. For ABL, this is the serial number (case sensitive).

Done! The charger should come online.

Troubleshooting

Did you set everything up correctly, but the charger still remains "Pre-registered"?

  • The chargepoint ID must exactly match the serial number.

  • eMH2/eMH3: check the URL ends in /v1 with no typos.

  • eM4: check the Local Path is /v1, not empty.

  • Restart the charger after changing OCPP settings.
