Requirements
io5 / io6 / Smart / Solar: the Ratio EV Charging app and Bluetooth
io7: a phone or laptop with Wi-Fi
Internet connection for the charger
Good to know: Ratio Cloud is built on Plugchoice. It's one or the other.
Already on Ratio Cloud? Keep using it; entering the Plugchoice URL in its OCPP proxy will not work.
Connect your charger
Option 1: io5 / io6 / Smart / Solar
In the Ratio EV Charging app:
Connect the charger via Bluetooth.
Go to Settings > Advanced settings > OCPP settings.
Tap Open Charge Point Provider.
Select Plugchoice.
Don't see it? Select Volt Time Cloud: that is Plugchoice's old name.
Copy the CPID shown. This is your chargepoint ID.
App features like load balancing, solar charging and schedules keep working.
Option 2: io7
In the io7 web interface:
Power up the charger and wait for green LEDs.
The charger's Wi-Fi hotspot is now active for 10 minutes.
Connect to Wi-Fi ratio_io7, password Ratioio7.
Open a browser and go to 10.7.10.7
Browser warning? Click Advanced, then Continue.
Log in with username Installer, password RatioInstaller.
Change the password under User Settings and store it safely.
Open the CSMS section.
Switch Offline Authorization off.
In CSMS Server Address, enter ws://proxy.plugchoice.com/v1
Click Save.
Registering your charger in Plugchoice
Add the charger using the chargepoint ID. For io5 / io6 / Smart / Solar this is the CPID from the app; for io7 the serial number (case sensitive).
Done! The charger should come online.
Troubleshooting
Did you set everything up correctly, but the charger still remains "Pre-registered"?
The chargepoint ID in Plugchoice must match exactly (case sensitive).
No Plugchoice in the provider list? Volt Time Cloud is the same thing.
Using Ratio Cloud? Don't add the Plugchoice URL there; keep Ratio Cloud.
io7: charging starts without a charge pass? Set OEM_NoAuthEnabled to false.
io7: hotspot gone? Reboot the charger; it's only active for 10 minutes.
