How to connect: Circontrol

Connect your Circontrol charger to Plugchoice via the charger's setup webpage.

Requirements

  • Windows laptop, LAN cable, and the IPSetup tool

  • An OCPP 1.6 license on the charger (request via Circontrol Post Sales: [email protected])

  • OCPP URL: ws://proxy.plugchoice.com/v1

Connect your charger

Open the charger's setup page:

  1. Connect your laptop to the charger with the LAN cable.

  2. Run IPSetup.

  3. Enter the MAC address (on the communications board inside the charger).

  4. Enter an IP address in the same range as your laptop.

  5. Click Configure. The setup page opens in your browser.

  6. Log in with username admin, password 1234.

Configure OCPP:

  1. Go to Network, enable DHCP, and save.

  2. Go to Integrations and select OCPP 1.6 JSON.

  3. No OCPP 1.6 option? Upload your license file via Select File.

  4. Click Link. Log in again with admin / 1234.

  5. Go to Charge Box and set the Id. Use the serial number.

  6. Go to Central System > Host URL and enter ws://proxy.plugchoice.com/v1.

  7. Save and reboot the charger.

Registering your charger in Plugchoice

  1. Add the charger using the chargepoint ID. For Circontrol, this is the Id you set in Charge Box (case sensitive).

Done! The charger should come online.

Troubleshooting

Did you set everything up correctly, but the charger still remains "Pre-registered"?

  • The chargepoint ID in Plugchoice must exactly match the Id in Charge Box.

  • Check the Host URL has no typos, spaces, or trailing slash.

  • No OCPP 1.6 option? You need a license from Circontrol ([email protected]).

  • Reboot the charger after saving the configuration.
