Which meter can I connect?
The Modbus RS485 input (the blue port in the image above) connects Flint to an Eastron meter. Any Eastron meter with RS485 output works with Flint.
In-line meter (up to 100 A)
Eastron SDM72D-Modbus: we supply this meter (€79 excl. VAT, list price).
Eastron SDM630-Modbus: also works. We do not sell this one ourselves.
Meter with CT clamps
Use the Eastron SDM630-Modbus CT. It works with several types of current transformers, for example split-core 150 A or 500 A CTs, or flexible Rogowski coils for 1,000 A or 10,000 A. You set which CTs you use on the SDM630 itself, see the manual.
The Modbus cable
We supply this cable with Flint. One end has 0.75 mm² ferrules, the other end an RJ45 plug.
Plug the RJ45 plug into the RS485 port on Flint. Then connect wires 4 (B-), 5 (A+) and 8 (GND) to the terminals of your Eastron meter.
